I just watched "All Saints" an inspiring movie based on a true story. all through the movie I was crying because I could so see the hand of God on these peoples lives. Its a movie about faith and hope and the love of Christ. As I was watching it, I began to feel the Holy Spirit speaking to my heart and I paused the movie to fully focus on Him. He began to talk to me about Jesus and how he brought hope, how He really IS hope! He brought this promise to mind found in Job 14:7-9
7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant
I know that the Christmas Season can be bittersweet as we grieve loved ones that have passed, or relationships with our family and friends that have failed, but we gotta put our eyes and heart on the one who IS hope! Jesus brings life! He is our hope! Even if the tree has been cut down, and the stump appears to have died, there is hope! Just at the SCENT of water it will bud! take a big deep breath right now, what is it that you smell> HOPE! don't give up on your lost or estranged loved ones! Don't give up on your healing! Don't greive the ones who have gone on to be with the Lord so much that you forget the living! Don't get so caught up looking to the past that you can't see the hope of the present or future! Our God is the God of Restoration, the God of our Salbation, the God who IS hope! Rejoice! Allow that joy of the Lord to rise from deep within...If you have given yourself to Christ, you are not alone! Remember just at the SCENT of water, that ole stump budded and brought forth new growth! LIFE! WOOOOHOOOO!
