He Shed His Blood for Us! (Pt. 2)

In the first part of this study we talked about the Blood of
Christ and how it was "remitted" for us!  It is the blood of
Jesus that bought our freedom for us.  It’s by His blood that we are forgiven for our sins!  It’s by His blood that we can    have eternal life! The blood of Christ is redemptive!
Redemptive... what does that mean?
I looked up redemption in Webster’s Dictionary-  Recovery
of something pawned or mortgaged. The payment of an          obligation, as a government's payment of the value of its
bonds.  Deliverance upon payment of ransom; rescue

From a worldly perspective when I hear I think of redemption I picture coupons or S&H greenstamps, remember those?    You received them when you bought groceries and saved
them in books that were made to save them until you saved
enough to REDEEM them for items. I remember my Mama  saved them, and I would sit with the catalog, dreaming        about the toys LOL!  Anyway that is an example of
redemption  by the worlds standards.  But we are studying
redemption in relation to the blood of Christ! We don’t want
to define it through a worldly perspective, we wanna go to
the Word!  We want the biblical perspective.  (this is a
common mistake Christians make when studying out words and concepts, going to the world’s dictionaries and such and applying it to scripture) We want to understand the words
and concepts that they are translated from, so to do that we have to go to the Hebrew for the Old Testament and Greek
for the New.  Bible .org says  redemption is the purchase
back of something that had been lost.
Originally, the             payment of a price to secure the release of a prisoner of
war.
Redemption always means the payment of a price to
secure release.
John 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto
you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
People who sin become slaves of sin and can’t free
themselves from that slavery. Christ’s death on the cross
was the payment of a ransom price by which sinners are set free.
Mark 10:45  For even the Son of Man did not come to be
served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who isin you, whom you have
from God, and you are not your own?  For you were
bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in
your spirit, which are God’s.
The idea running through all this scripture, is that of             payment made for our redemption. The debt against us is    not viewed as simply cancelled, but is FULLY PAID. Christ's blood or life, which he surrendered for us, is the "ransom"    and redemptive.  By His blood He delivered His people from the servitude of sin and to be free from the consequences of sin which is death.
KJV Dictionary states that Redemption is a Repurchase of
captured goods or prisoners; the act of procuring the deliverance of persons or things from the possession and power of captors by the payment of an equivalent; ransom; release;
as the redemption of prisoners taken in war;

The Word is full of stories of redemption- Saul/Paul. Ruth.
Esther, Noah to name a few,  and all point to Jesus!  Jesus
Christ shed His redemptive Blood for us! There are seven
ways that He bled for us, each having a significant meaning and holds a specific redemption for us!  When we truly
understand what the blood of Jesus did for us, we will walk
in freedom and will never again stay in bondage in ANY
area of our lives!  Also when we think on these things, the
sacrificial love Jesus has for us, it stirs us out of our
complacency! We become hungry to know Him more and
deeper! The fire of His love burns in us and must be
shared! We go back to our first love!  By His shed blood
chains are broken! We begin to really get it that Jesus has
won the victory! Yet God’s people are still oppressed! Why?
Well, Jesus DID take the victory for us, but the devil is still
squatting on the property. It’s on us to serve him the eviction notice and kick him out!  We must ENFORCE THE
VICTORY OF CHRIST! Don’t make the mistake of thinking
of satan as a gentleman, he is no gentleman and he will not go voluntarily just because Jesus defeated him on the cross, we gotta force him out! Jesus has done all He could do to
free you and I. The rest is up to us. If we stand up to the
enemy, by the Blood of Christ, he will have to give up and let go of what belongs to us, but if we do not demand it, then
the situation will remain just as if Jesus never came in the
first place! He shed His very blood for us, for our freedom,
so that we may be forgiven our sins, so that we may have
life abundant! Thank You Jesus!
