Jesus shed blood during the crucifixion The word crucifixion comes from the Latin "crucifixio," or "crucifixus," meaning "fixed to a cross." The crucifixion of Christ was a horribly painful and disgraceful form of capital punishment used in the ancient world This method of execution involved binding the victim's hands and feet and nailing them to the cross and was mainly for traitors, captive armies, slaves and the worst of criminals.
They pierced His hands. Mat 27:35a “And they crucified Him,”
What was redeemed: power to succeed, prosper and ability to receive spiritual inheritance.
He was wounded (pierced) for our transgressions.
Isaiah 53:5
The hands of Christ were pierced through with nails and He bled to forgive our transgressions. Transgression, that’s one of those words that I always thought of as sin, but the definition is much deeper than that. Transgression: a willful deviation from the path of righteousness, it is a premeditated crossing of the line of God's law, a rebellious act of rejecting the authority of God in one's life. He bled for our willful rebellion! His love for us truly is unfathomable!
Here Jesus freed us to receive our inheritance. Galatians 4:4-5 NIV – But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow Deut. 28:12
Not only did the blood flow from the hands of Jesus, but the anointing of God's Holy Spirit that breaks the yoke of bondage flows from His hands. He laid hands on the sick and they were healed, He touched the dead and they were raised. The very power of the throne of God flowed from the Savior's heart to those that cried out for His tender mercy. Now we are to walk in His Kingdom here on Earth. We are to surrender to the power of God, allowing His anointing to flow through our hands, to heal, to deliver to raise the dead!
Until the Crucifixion of Jesus, our hands were still defiled by sin. Satan could claim before God that we were not qualified to receive anything. When the blood flowed from the wrists of Jesus, it was to take away the curse on the work of our hands, to take away the sin that was testifying against us, and to free us to lift our hands to God in worship. The scriptures speak of lifting ‘holy hands’ to God. Now we can do that because our hands have been purified through the blood of Jesus. Now everything we do can prosper!
